Ukrainian delegation participated in the meeting of the Donor Assembly of the Nuclear Safety Account
Last week, a meeting of the Donor Assembly of the Nuclear Safety Account took place at the EBRD headquarters in London, during which the Ukrainian delegation discussed the state of work on the construction of a spent nuclear fuel storage facility (SNF-2) at Chornobyl NPP industrial site.
According to Acting Director General of SSE «Chornobyl NPP» Sergii Kalashnik, support from the Ukrainian government, the international community, countries donors of the Nuclear Safety Account and the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development is very important for the ChNPP towards creating the conditions for long-term storage of spent nuclear fuel.
Technical training of operational personnel which will carry out the transportation of spent nuclear fuel from the SNF-1 to the SNF-2 and will complete the operation of the new storage facility is now being completed at the SNF-2.
Also, representatives of the Ukrainian delegation assured the donors that Ukraine will continue to take all necessary measures to create favorable conditions for the completion of international projects at the Chornobyl NPP site.
